Watercolor Portraits

Graphic Design

We will be creating watercolor effects in Photoshop. This project will focus on layers, blending options, color, contrast, filters, and you will learn how to create a MASK.

Step One:Find a reference photo.  It does not matter if its black and white or color.  However you should choose a photo with good lighting (highlights, shadows, contrast).  Save as .jpeg to your folder.

*Tip- choose subject matter with minimal to no background.

Step Two:Find interesting paper textures.  You will need to find at least 3 different types of paper.  Wrinkled, Crumpled, Lined, Notebook, Watercolor, Canvas, Stained, etc... Save files as .jpeg to your folder.

Step Three:Find 6 different Watercolor textures.  Type in watercolor droplets, watercolor textures, watercolor splatters, drips, etc...Save files as .jpeg or .png to your folder.
